AAC&U 2009 Annual Meeting - Ready or Not: Global Challenges, College Learning, and America’s Promise
The Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) is offering AASHE members the "Campus Team Discount" for its 2009 Annual Meeting. The meeting will examine the relationship between college learning and society, with a particular focus on the tradition, language, and practice of liberal education necessary to meet the many challenges of the world today. An AASHE co-sponsored pre-meeting symposium entitled "Sustainability: Place, Responsibilities, and the Curriculum" will be held on January 21. Speakers for the Symposium include Stephanie Pfirman, Barnard College; Geoffrey Chase, San Diego State University; Jean MacGregor, The Evergreen State College; and Jeanne Narum of Project Kaleidoscope. To receive your discount, you will need to use a special code when you register. As this discount is only for AASHE members, you'll have to log in to retrieve the code.
Rocky Mountain Sustainability Summit
The University of Colorado at Boulder is offering a 10 percent discount to AASHE members for its 2009 Rocky Mountain Sustainability Summit. The event will provide a learning and networking forum for participants from campuses in the Rocky Mountain region. Presentation topics will include institutionalizing sustainability, best practices for operationalizing sustainability, creating a culture of sustainability, social and environmental justice, carbon mitigation planning, and regional sustainability strategies. Registration is now open. The deadline for registration is January 26, 2009. To receive the discount, enter "AASHE" as the discount code when you register.

Online Study Course for the LEED Professional Accreditation Exam
The LEED Professional Accreditation exam will be changing at the end of 2008 and is expected to become more difficult. Through the end of the year, LEEDLearn is offering AASHE members and students a ~10% discount on their Platinum Package. LEEDLearn provides an online study course to help clients pass the LEED 2.2 NC (New Construction) exam. The course is taught by Bharat Patel, faculty of the USGBC and past chair of the USGBC-LA chapter. You can learn more about LEEDLearn by watching an informational video.
